Backup Management
The Backup Management service module creates backups of your supported cloud resources based on a schedule that we agreed with you. We also use predefined backup plans and then store the backups according to the retention periods defined for your service. During onboarding to your service, we will assist you in defining the backup schedules, frequency, and retention period.
SoftwareOne monitors all backup jobs, and, when a backup job fails, we raise an incident and follow the incident management process to investigate and resolve the issue. Should a cloud resource fail, SoftwareOne uses snapshots to perform a restore, if needed.
To provide you with the status of your backups, SoftwareOne provides the reports:
Backup Coverage report–to show in-scope and out of scope cloud resources
Backup Details report–to show the status of backups by resource.
You can access the reporting features in the Cloud Management Portal. For more information, refer to Working with Reports.
At any time, you can request for the baseline configuration to be changed, to update the backup schedules, frequency, and retention period.
Additionally, as part of your Premium service, you can request custom managed backup regimes that are not part of the baseline configuration.
