AWS Cost Explorer
Applies only to CMS Essentials and PPAs
SoftwareOne encourages the use of AWS Cost Explorer to visualize current and anticipated spend using AWS Cost Explorer for spend management.
As you utilise SoftwareOne as your AWS reselling partner, SoftwareOne receives different commercial terms from AWS to provide billing services. This means that the monthly costs displayed in Cost Explorer will not match the invoice you receive from us. This will lead to confusion, and as such, SoftwareOne applies a restriction to Cost Explorer on the management account (aka Master Payer).
By deploying AWS Billing Conductor, a (new) AWS Linked Account can be assigned to receive consolidated billing and provide an aggregated overview of monthly cost and usage data, that will accurately reflect the invoice you receive from us.
For the use of AWS Billing Conductor, AWS charges a small monthly fee (per linked account included in the consolidated billing).
Applies only to Essentials via SoftwareOne Marketplace with Billing Transfer
SoftwareOne recommends the continued use of AWS Cost Explorer to help your organisation understand, monitor, and forecast cloud consumption.
When you appoint SoftwareOne as your AWS billing and services partner through Billing Transfer, your AWS usage is invoiced from a SoftwareOne‑managed payer account using AWS Billing Conductor. This ensures your teams retain full visibility of usage patterns and associated costs, presented using standard AWS public retail pricing. Please note that certain charges—such as support fees—are not included in this view, as they are excluded by AWS from pro forma cost domains under Billing Conductor.
There is no charge for Billing Conductor with Billing Transfer.
